Pakistan cricket team has just reached Siri Lanka for their test series including two test matches starting on July 16th. Pakistan will play their first tour match against SLCP XI tomorrow, 11th July, the match will start at 9:30 AM.
Two test match will commence at Gale and Colombo respectively. All eyes on the series as this is first test match of the new leg of World Test Championship for Pakistan.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam have a huge task in front of him as he wants to win the series for the team as well as he can accomplish a new milestone in this series. He can become number ranked test batsman after the series if scores a load of runs in the series.

Babar Azam currently ranked sixth in the ICC Test Rankings. He has just slipped one spot as Steve Smith jumped four spots. Babar is the yet the best Asian batsman in Test matches till date. Kane Williamson tops the list with 883 ranking points while Babar Azam lies sixth with 862 ranking points. Most number of players are from Australia with four players in the list then comes kewis two players one each from Pakistan, India and Siri Lanka.

Babar Azam needs to score three centuries in upcoming four innings to get number one spot in Test Beating Rankings. Well this is very difficult but not impossible. The way he is playing and scoring runs in each format fans and cricket lovers may be hoping that he does so.
His recent scores against are really impressive as he has scored two fifties and one ton against Siri Lanka in previous tour.
Siri Lanka depends mostly on his spin bowling and we all know Babar plays spin well but we also have one thing in mind that he usually give away his wicket to a leg spinner and mostly in a very cheap way.
Scoring three centuries is quite a task but if any player can do it then he is the one as he is in a sublime form.

His batting style is very calm and classical, and when he gets settled at the crease he can dominate bowlers in all conditions. At one point he was ranked among the top Test batters and even reached a career-best position of third in the ICC Test rankings, which shows how close he has already come to the top. If he continues scoring consistently in big series, especially overseas, there’s no reason he can’t reach the number one spot in the future.
