Cricket is the game which is growing day by day globally and it involves alot of money now days. This is a good sign as the different leagues are also coming in almost every cricketing nation, this promotes cricket and increase business opportunities. Players nowadays get alot of money while playing for any team whether internationally or locally. These all are positives for the cricket but unfortunately where there is postives there are some negatives as well which hurt the cricket. The most negative thing which hurt cricket and the fans is Match Fixing.
Match fixing are of alot of types, only a player or two can be involved or the whole team is involved and sometimes whole board are under the curse of Match fixing. People look the ways for easy money and this is one of them. Do some little effort and get alot of money. It is unethical but people nowdays see no difference between ethical earning and unethical earnings. We have alot of examples of players from all around the world who were involved in the fixing some were caught some were cleaver enough to sneak through and were unable to caught. In this article were are going to see some of the players who were invovled in match fixing. (Data is organized from the rumours and authentic news)
- Muhammad Amir
A young pacer just 17 years old came into Pakistan side just before 2009 world t20 cup and showed his class and talent to world. Every single player praised him as he was so good. Line, lenght and pace were so accurate that he could demolish the batting side and he did at several of occasions. In 2007 in a test match at Lords Amir was involved in a spot fixing case in which he has to bow a no bowl. He got the support of the other two players from his team including the captain.

He was minor at that stage and still bery fresh to the international level. But quick money made him greedy and made him fall into the danger zone. He and other two were caught after the match and Muhammad Amir was banned gor five years from international and domestic cricket. He also spent time in jail in london. After he completed his punishment he came back to the domestic structure and found a way to jump back in the Pakistani side. He has great achievements like winning world cup t20 2009 and winning last champions trophy where he bowled a splended spell in the ginal against india taking out Rohit Sharma, Dhawan and Virat kholi.

Well that was the end of his career and never came back to international side though he plays domestic after completing his punishment but non of the selectors gave a look at him. He also had some other problems with players like Shoaib Akhtar and was also involved drugs case.

Salman Butt was banned for 10 years from the cricket and was put into jail for 2 years and 6 months. Now he is currently playing in Pakistan domestic team and trying to cimeback in international side which seems like impossible.
Lou Vincent a Newzealand player was banned for the 3 years initially as he was failed to clear him self in a match fixing in league game in Bangladesh and later he did a match fixing in English domestic match causing him lose his cricketing career and had a life time ban. Muhammad Azharuddin A very famous Indian player and captain Muhammad Azharuddin is also invovled in match fixing curse.

He was banned for lifetime as he was alleged in 2000 that he provides information to the bookies and introduced Hansie Cronje, south african player, to the bookies. On 8 november 2012 the case was dismissed as well as the ban as tge case was called unstable and closed. He was a really great captain and player who served alot to the country and by this the coutry reputation was on stake, so no can say he was not guilty because the indian board is to strongand had alot of influence on the ICC.
Another Indian player who was found guilty of match fixing was banned for 5 years as in 2000 he try to implicate legendary kapil Dev and some other players but it was backfired to him. Investigation took place and he was found guilty.
Famous former South African captain Hansie Cronje was also a victim of match fixing. He himself deliberately accpeted that he had done match fixing.

He wass banned for 6 months as he accepted that he has taken miney for underperforming in a ODI match at Nagpur India. He scored 74 off 53 balls in that match.
An indian pacer and Kings eleven punjab representative in IPL was banned for life time as he planned that he will conceed 14 runs in an over against Rajistan Royal in a Ipl match. He did the same and was arrested on 16 May 2016 as he accepted that he planned all this with bookies and will underperform.

An indian pacer and Kings eleven punjab representative in IPL was banned for life time as he planned that he will conceed 14 runs in an over against Rajistan Royal in a Ipl match. He did the same and was arrested on 16 May 2016 as he accepted that he planned all this with bookies and will underperform.

He was later released on bail from jail. His life ban was reduced to 7 years which is going to over on 13 September 2020.
